Use a damp cloth to blot up spills as soon as they happen. Use a spoon to combine all ingredients and then pour the vinegar cleaning solution into your mop. For steam cleaning tile floors or your laminate mix the water rubbing alcohol and vinegar in a mixing bowl and then add in the dishwashing soap. For tough spots such as oil paint markers lipstick ink or tar use acetone nail polish remover on a clean white cloth. But the water resistant laminate floor contains waterproof material in the core layer.

Use a steam mop occasionally for a very deep clean. It may take several passes to get the floor clean but the mop is safer for your floors. The steam can cause swelling and warping of the product. Not daily though because the repeated use of steam can cause the laminate to buckle.

Clean the floor routinely to remove dirt and dust by sweeping vacuuming or damp wiping. Start in the furthest corner and work in sections until the entire floor is clean. Laminate isn t as strong as other flooring options and it s easily damaged by devices like steam cleaners buffers and polishers. Do not use steam cleaners or wet mops which may cause irreparable damage to your floor.

For deeper cleaning you can use a steam mop very sparingly on laminate floors. Also check the pad on your steam cleaner. Always remove grit sharp objects staining agents moisture or aggressive substances from the floor. Avoid oil based cleaners as they can leave streaks that are impossible to get rid of.

For this type of floor you can steam clean it occasionally. However the intense heat and moisture it uses to get the job done can also wreak havoc on the adhesive used on your laminate floors.
